Centurion Conversion

Welp. I found a awesome truck i wish i could have but its not quiet big enough for what i wanna do with it. It is a 1998 Z71 centurion conversion. It is a full 4 door crew cab and short bed. wow is this truck awesome. I guess centurion made it a crew cab. It has a gooseneck ball and it has air bag suspension on it. wow does it ride nice too. 350 vortec. The interior is leather and the thing is loaded. 100,000 miles on it and the guy wants 14 grand. wow. just thought id tell you and ask what u think of it

I think Chevy made a K3500 crewcab in 1998 (old body style) and the base engine was the 350 with the 454 or 6.5TD as options. I've seen a number of full timers pulling 5th wheels with similar converted rigs.

no this truck was defienently not a 3/4 or 1 tons truck. It was a real z71. the real deal. factory skid plate,shocks,everything. it was converted into a crew cab. oh ya its victory red too. deep tinted windows.

It is a conversion done on a 1/2 ton. There are a few of them running around town here. If you look close you can see where the frame was cut and extended. Then the conversion company put a new cab on it to create the crewcab 1/2 ton before GM did.

They are a sweet truck liked them when they first came out and still like the look of them.

Up until the last year of the C/K it was not possible to get a 1/2 ton crewcab shortbed. Centurion conversions has made them for a long time. I remember looking into them back in 96. They take a pickup and turn it into a crewcab. It was cheaper to do it with an ext. cab than a reg cab.

Actually, the only 1500 Crew Cab Short Box made by Chevy came out in 2002 (the 1500HD). And that isn't a real 1500 if you ask me anyway. Before that the first short box crew cab Chevy of anykind was the 1999 C/K2500-3500. And before that all crew cabs were 3500's.

There is a pre '97 F150 4x4 running around here that is a crewcab shortbed, and also a 4-door Bronco.

These conversion companies (like Centurian) do some interesting mods to vehicles...

I would not buy it. You should never buy a 1500 with a gooseneck on it.

I tend to agree here. I forgot to mention that if the truck you were looking at really started life as a 1500, and they stretched the body, put on airbags, and hauled heavy gooseneck trailers - I'd run away.
