My 2000 silverado security light and chime stays on after turning truck off..any ideas??

Gonna need a code out of the theft deterrent to really help you. I'm assuming the truck starts with the key you have every time?

might be time to bypass the passlock system with a simple resistor soldered in

How can I get the code?? Does the code reader at auto zone read security issues or is this something that I have to go to the Chevy service department to get??

What ohm resistor?? I have the wires already labeled for the passlock..
