The other day my truck started running really rough and had reduced mpg for about 10 minutes then went back to normal. It was following a day of heavy rain so I though something may have gotten wet. The next day my truck started running very rough again with backfires and sputtering and eventually died and had to get towed. I'm getting a p0336 code for the crank sensor. It starts and runs great until it warms up then sputters a bunch then stalls. Changed the crank sensor today and doing the same thing. Checked the wired and connections and everything seems fine.

When it warms up and sputters, take the ECM out of it and stick it in the freezer for 10 mins, reinstall and see if your problem goes away. If so, replace the ECM. You could do this trick on the older trucks. The new stuff you can't.

It ended up being water in the connection of the harness to the computer. We had some very bad storms lately and I went through some pretty deep water on a flooded road. I sprayed electrical cleaner in and blew it all out and it's fine now
