overhead consol

I have a 02 silverado LS model. The question is the overhead consol has a bubble plastic face in the front of the consol. It looks as if for some option what for, I do not know. Whats it for? Any suggestions pass them through. I asked the parts department and they said I do not know ask one of the new car guys. What a crock, you work in parts and do not know???? I did not want to go and see the leaches so I did not bother. Any feed back???? (the parts guys at the dealer)

In the Silverados, that is just a cover plate. Some of the guys have put in CD changer controls, etc in its place. In Suburban and Tahoes, that is the area for the rear A/C controls.

My cuz has his sub-woofer gain knob in this spot. I am either going to put some sort of electronic thingy in there or put the same controller in there.

 

I've seen equalizers in there, switches, and one guy who did a custom job on it and put a flip-down tv in it. Good luck with what ever you decide!
