What Size Tires Will Fit

I've got a 2014 Sierra 1500 SLT Crew Cab Z71 4WD with stock suspension.  Will a 295/50/20 tire fit on the stock 9" wide wheel?  The research I've done shows it is about 3/4" wider and .15" shorter than the stock 275/55/20 tire.

It might but depends on the tire. I have seen wider tires of different brands on the same rim. One fit like crap all bulged out and another no bulge and fit good. Also most tire makers will tell the max rim size the tires should go on.
