I am considering refreshing the paint on my 2002 Sierra 2500 HD. It's got several scratches, a little surface rust on a couple of those scratches and a couple of dents.

I got an estimate from a local paint shop for their best package. I'm crazy about the truck but not crazy about the color which is pewter something or another.

If I were to change it, I would probably change it to some color of blue or burgundy. But this paint shop only does external paint and no under the hood or door jambs.

I have a feeling that I would love the color of the truck until I opened the door, especially if I changed to a color that has a pretty good contrast.

Have any of you seen or experienced this and what did you think?

I would advise against it all the crevises and cracks and hidden areas you can't see still with original paint would look tacky and unprofessional no matter how particular you try to paint all areas Plus I'd think it would hurt the resale value as well

Since I posted this I pretty much made the decision. I guess putting it in words made it sound ridiculous. So if I get it done, I think I will just stay with the natural color. Then it will look brand-new virtually everywhere.
