Envoy/Trailblazer assembly plants

I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy an Envoy next spring.

Can anybody tell me where they're assembled? The wife and I like to visit assembly plants and watch the cars/trucks being made. I know that XL models are finished in Okla. City, but where are standard models assembled?

Also, any Envoy owners out there care to give a little 'personal testimony'? Likes, dislikes, etc., :D

I don't know for sure where they're made, but I think it's OK. The Enovys are very good trucks. My Grandma bought one over a year ago and it has been great so far.

For Colorado fans, Shreveport is gearing up for production of that vehicle to start real soon:

The UAW local 2166 is the union in the Shreveport plant. Anyway, the new Colorado looks sharp. A nice replacement for the tired S-10.

OK.

Some of you are kinda correct.

The TrailBlazer EXT & Envoy XL are built at the Oklahoma City, OK plant.

The TrailBlazer & Envoy are built at the Moraine,OH plant.

Shreveport,LA currently builds the S-10 and Sonoma and will be switching entirely to the Colorado and Canyon very shortly.

Here's a link to GM's assembly plants and the vehicles they build.

Guys,

Don't put too much stock into that UAW website. It must be very old. Their info is somewhat off.

There is no turbo I5. There is no 6-speed manual. The vehicle is not near the size of a Dodge Dakota. It has no relation to the S-10 or Sonoma. It shares NO parts with S-10, Sonoma, Blazer, Jimmy, TrailBlazer, Envoy, etc.

They don't even have a picture of the truck up. They're still using the rendering that is about a year old.

My 2003 Envoy was also made at the Dayton OH (Moraine) assembly plant. The assembly plant is off Interstate 75 in the south Dayton suburb of Moraine. :seeya:

I like my 2003 Envoy very much overall. I origionally was looking at the Trailblazer LTZ. I drove 3 or 4 of each of the Trailblazers and Envoys, and came to the conclusion the Envoy worked best for me. The seats were more comfortable and the ride seemed better and quieter in the Envoy. The I6 is a very good powerful engine, just a little thirsty. The brakes could be better in stopping power.

Dayton, Ohio is where they build the Trailblazer and Envoy nonextended models, Oklahoma city the extended models. Shreveport is where th S-10 and soon the Colorado and Canyon are made. Linden is where they build the 4 door S-10 and the Blazer.
