2001 tahoe trailer plug wiring

Question------ at the 7 pin trailer plug in , I have NO POWER at the blk wire that gos to the one o clock position constant power  , where does the blk wire go from the rear of the plug ? to another harness plug in up under the rear bumber and then to the fuse box under the hood ?  and if so where is harness under the hood located ? to the right looking at it from drivers side or left , the later models have a dummy red plug back left side that you just take out and put in a 30 amp fuse and you have power back at the plug but not in a 2001 which is a bummer , also in the later models when you put the 30 amp fuse in an have power at plug, is it consent or is it only hot when you turn the key on and then No power with key out. ???  On the 7 pin is it just best to run a 30 amp in line fuse to hot in fuse box and run 10 gage wire to rear ,cut blk wire at  one o clock , tape off vut wire and run 10 gauge wire to the other cut off wire going to pin ? white is ground so should have power there since ground is already there, will this work or is there a better way ????? post  please ASAP

On my 2010(i know yours is a 2001) there are two posts on the fuse box under hood, drivers side.  In the wiring harness on one side of the box there is a single wire taped to the main harness with an eye terminal, it will fit one of the two posts, if it fits both, attach it to the larger of the two posts.  On the other side of the box you should find another wire with an eye connector on it taped to the harness.  Connect it to the other stud. Then you put the 40 amp fuse in. Those two wires have different size eye connectors, and the smaller one only fits on one stud.  Don't know if your truck is like that or not.
