Middle rear DVD screen

My middle  dvd player screen  stopped working 1 week out of warranty. I have ordered a ribbon wire harness off  ebay  and wondered if anyone has experience with installing. The screen would work if you did not pull it all the way down  the first couple of days but then it has quit completely now. I will note the dealer had to drop the headliner to repair an rear A/C problem I had early on so it could be a loose connection  associated with that repair.    It figures that this would show up on vacation the week after warranty. If we had gone an vacation a week earlier It would have been found and repaired by GM
