Got my Westers installed. My update

Lets see, if I had to describe it in one word it would be............... AWSOME!!! Guys, this thing is incredible!! Best money I have ever spent!! Now first off I have an 02 standard cab shortbed with the 5.3 and I used to have the HyperTech Powerprogrammer 3. Man, the difference is like night and day. Its like I put a big block in my truck and its only been one day. From what Lyndon says and everyone else says it just gets better as it learns. I cant even imagine. After installing it I took her out for a ride and I honestly thought something was wrong with my speedometer because how fast the speed increased so I went home grabbed the GPS to see if it was wrong. Guess what? The speedometer was 100% correct. like I said, like having a big block! As far as the pinging that others have mentioned I followed a relearn procedure that someone somewhere had mentioned, after installing the new PCM start the truck and let it idle to warm up to normal operating temp, then shut it off for 5 minutes, then set the parking break, start it up, press the break and put it in drive for 10 minutes, I stayed in the truck just in case the parking break gave. After which I took her out for a ride. running her WOT several times. The first 2 times I punched it it pinged a little, after that no more no matter how much I jumped on it so I guess thats the big trick. I know I said it before but its like a whole new truck. Best money I have spent to date. I highly reccomend this upgrade to anyone that xan afford it. Now I must go and find some ricers that wanna run it. Like the new sticker on the mirror says, "Objects in mirror soon disappear"

That sounds awesome! I wish it was terrible so I didn't wanna spend the money on it so much... :P But due to unfortunate breakage of my current computer monitor, I had to blow my Westers fund on a new one of those. Considering we're already half way through the month, I'm not too sure I'm gonna be able to gather the money together to buy one during his (second) sale I missed out on.

Oh well, s**t happens.

Cool that's sweet that you got those Awesome results! HUm, that much different than the Hypertech? I have a used Hypertech on the way but in the future I think Westers sounds like a kick@$$ upgrade!!!

I have a question for you guys with these westers chips...What do you do when you goto the dealer? When the run the computer on it or try to reflash the chip what happens....the reason I ask this is because I am running a superchip right now, and they say to put the stock program back on when you give it to the stealer.

Also what happens if you put bigger tires or new gears, or you put a huge blower with a scoop out the hood. Do you send it back to get it reprogrammed, or will he send you a new one at a nominal price??

thanks.....sorry for the redundant questions

Good questions . I'd like to hear some experienced answers.

From everything I have read and heard, the chips get updated with the latest GM updates and then loaded with the custom settings. That way if you do take your truck to the dealer they won't have any reason to flash it because it will show you have the latest upgrade. Also, I have read several times that the dealer can't tell that the chip has been reprogrammed. I'm sure if you have specific questions, they can be answered by Lyndon himself.

On the question of needing upgrades or changes made to the chip, I know that it comes with lifetime support. If you do indeed add a Borla exhaust, you call him up, let him know your changes and he sends you a PCM, you remove yours and replace it, then send him your old one. That way you’re only out the time your swapping the PCM out.

I'm confident that this is a quality supported product. :P

WESTERS PCM

Here's the whole Wester's story!

Allot of guys aren't aware of what is available in the custom programs. I looked into a few of them till I hit on the Wester's about 3 months ago. He wasn't that well known then but I wasn't satisfied with the Hypertech and Superchips programmers I already had so I gave him a call. He is so knowledgeable and accomidating that I ordered one for my truck, couldn't go wrong with a 30 day return policy! 5 days later I got it UPS. Took all of 10 min to swap it and remove the stock PCM, it is located between the battery and radiator under the hood. Wow, I was impressed. Instant BIG differance in throttle response and power. The "dead spot" under 3000rpm was much better, the torque management was gone and the shifts were crisp with no overlap. My truck felt like I put a big block in it! And I'm getting better gas mileage and running 87 octane with no pinging!

When you order a custom programmed PCM from Wester's, it is programmed for your VIN#. The dealer cannot tell it is not the PCM that came with your truck, nor can they see that any custom programming has been done. It looks all stock to them. Before Wester's loads his custom programming, he flashes all the latest GM updates into it for your VIN#, so the dealer will see it is completly up to date and not have to reflash anything. If by chance GM had an update in the future and the dealer reflashed the computer, just call Lyndon Wester and he will send another custom programmed PCM to you, no charge for life, when you get it and install it, send the old one back to him. Also, if you ever make any changes to your truck in the future, like even larger tires, different gears, supercharger or whatever, call him and he will send another custom programmed PCM to you, again NO CHARGE FOR LIFE! If you sell your truck in the future and buy another, Wester's will credit your full purchase price toward the purchase of the new PCM for the new truck, FOR LIFE!!! And you're never without the use of the truck because you don't send him your core until you get the new one and install it!!!

For Wester's,if you have questions, Lyndon can be contacted at 1-888-WESTER1 or via e-mail at [email protected] Can also visit http://westers_garage.eidnet.org/ for additional information. Tell him Butch sent you!

Any more questions, just ask!

I was gonna reply but Butch covered it all very well. I've been talking to Lyndon for about a month or 2, ever since I first heard of his product and believe me I asked him the the tough questions.

Vortec4800. I missed the first sale and was bummed. I was happy tp see he had a second, which he said will be the last, sale. I didnt get in as much trouble with the little woman seeing how I got it for $100.00 less than normal.

I am happy with mine... :P

In addition to everything that Butch said, Lyndon will also give you credit for a new PCM if you decide to update to a new truck... :D
