Well i'm not really sure if you guys would remember me, I have only posted here a couple of times. But i'm a frequent member, just not a big poster... But I thought I would share my story:

A couple of months ago, 6 to be exact, I got my 1st truck the day I turned 16. It was a 99' Silverado Regular Cab. I loved the truck, and drove it for a good amount of time, 4 months to be exact. I happend to be in a misfortunate accident coming around a corner and hydroplaining in the wet. Totaled the truck. Lesson Learned.. Wet weather is a whole diffrent type of driving in a truck.

About 3 weeks proceding the 1st crash, after we delt with all the insurance bull sh*t, and when we got our claim back. We went out shopping again for a replacement truck and a fresh start. The 1st day we looked we found an extrememly nice 02' Silverado Reg. Cab, with flowmaster 40 series and a superchip, and all, beautiful truck. I loved that truck, it was everything I had wanted to do to my 1st truck. It was the kinda truck you would pull up in, and everyone would gaze, and envy. I drove the truck for 3 days, responsibly, and kinda timid from the 1st accident. After a baseball game, I had descided that I would suprise my girlfriend with a visit in my new shiny red baby.. On the way to her house, a 57 yr. old lady with a blood alchohal level WAY above legal runs a red light, and I t-bone her. Truck totaled. Lady was fine, with an exception of a brused rib, thank god. So thats 2 trucks in less than a month wrecked. The dealership still actually owned the truck because our bank hadden't approved the loan yet. So we really didnt have to pay for tag fee..ect. when we made our claim.

Now here I am, about a month later with my new ride, an 00' GMC Sierra Ex. Cab.. Sad story yet, positive lessons. Both accidents were totalled vehicles, niether was I injured in. We had our lawer deal with the second accident, and when we called, he said that only 1% of people walk away from a totalled accident. Basically i've walked away from 2, in perfect condition, with an exception of a soar back. The 1st accident I was laid inbatween 2 trees, about a foot away from either side. Both accidents, I was wearing my seat belt. Both accidents, I would of been seriously injured if it wasent for it.

I'm not a very religious person, but both times, their was a reasoning, and both times their was no passenger. Someone was looking out for me. And someone still is.

I feel your pain! Lesson learned, always prepare for someone driving near you to do something utterly out of control, stupid, suicidal.

Im sorry to here about your trucks but at least everyone is ok. I think I have been lucky, though I have been rear ended several times, nothing major.

Well as I say, no accident is a good accident, but one you can walk away from isn't too bad. I've had a few good ones at work. The first, I was a passenger and we were going to a fight call when some 16yo girl pulled out in front of us when we were doing 40-45...my FTO swerved to miss her and ended up across the lawn/lot of this parking complex...back end of the cruiser kicked out and hit 2 parked cars, went thru a wooden fence, and into a car lot wrecking 6 brand new Subaru's...was a 10-11 car accident by the time it was done.

Another good one was when this woman pulled out in front of me when I had a flashing yellow and was doing 30-35...hit her civic or cavalier square in the driver's doors...both bags deployed for me and I choked on the smoke trying to call it in on the radio, but walked away.

Those are my 2 best, but I was belted in in both and walked away from them both...both were in 96 or earlier Crown Vics...thankfully haven't had any incidents in the truck. A lot of it is just being aware of spacing and anticipating others.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune(s). The good thing is you're still to talk about them - from the pics they looked like pretty bad!

I feel pretty confident in my driving, but I don't trust anyone else on the road because anything can happen at any time! :D

Keep buckling up and be safe! :P

I have been driving for over 20 years, and never had anything worse than a few fender benders. I am glad you have no injuries. If there is one thing I do know, people are alot harder to fix than cars.

And don't take is personal if I kinda keep away from you in traffic, don't want any flying parts to hit my truck :P

Glad to hear you are OK.

I have never wrecked, but on one very rainy day I laid rubber in front of a cop...thank you Ford for not putting a limited slip in the Ranger...he didn't pull me though.

Drinking and driving can f**k things up bad. My cousin loaned his '98 F-150 to a friend. The truck was less than a year old at the time. Anyway, his "friend" got s**tfaced and as a result totalled the new F-150. Imagine having to get up at 1 A.M. to go see your new truck after it has been slammed into a guard rail. The drunk walked away...well, stumbled away, he was 4x the legal limit.
