Denali headlight conversion

I'm thinking about putting Denali headlights on my '06 Sierra WT. besides the headlight housing, do I also need an adapter for bulbs? If I go LED, HID, or Xenon will the ballasts from those be good enough?  Some sites say yes, others say no. What do you professionals say...
