2018 Silverado Auxiliary Plug Question

Hello... new to the forum. I am planning on adding 2 led pods to my 2018 Silverado. From my understanding there is a blank plug near the spare tire which if wired up to an aftermarket  harness I am buying will operate the led pods off of the cargo light switch. I have most of the install figured out, but one question I have is do I still need to add a relay? I do not believe the harness or the lights come with one. It seems that the lights will be going through the same relay as the cargo lights? I can't use the the original cargo lights because I have a fiberglass truck cap installed. I have an A.R.E. cap with a third brake light and don't know if I could even add the reverse / cargo light to the factory installed light from A.R.E.? Funny thing is I asked the dealer if the A.R.E. cap light would function exactly as my third brake light. They said yes, but I assumed this was incorrect. The factory cargo light was great as it would light up the bed and back area of the truck. Also I am thinking of replacing the factory reverse lights with led lights . Can anyone tell me if this is actually worth the time and money? My main goal with this switch is to have better viewing from my rear view camera and the ability to use the cargo light again.

If you don’t have the original under rail LEDs you should be able to use that but you’ll need the weather rite connector to plug into the block under there

Thanks for the reply.  No I do not have bed lights. I have this wire harness coming today. It says it works for cargo lights and has an extra wire for brake lights. So am I safe not to bother with a relay? The led lights are just 2 small pods.
