Auto Tranny for 5.3

I've been wanting to look into a new performance drivetrain setup(tranny, shift kit, and torque converter). And it seems that this mod might be pushed up bc I have noticed I have a pinion seal leak in my rear end. Also, when i come right off of idle, I hear a loud metal clanking noise. It feels like it is right below me which I am assuming is my tranny. I just moved to Southwestern Louisiana and am trying to find a reputable drivetrain shop I can take it to and have it looked at. If it turns out it is my tranny and whatnot, I wanna go ahead and get a new high performance one with all the goodies I mentioned. I would like some opinions on what kind/brands and where to look. Also, and advice about that metal 'clank'?!

Thanks for the help

I hope you have deep pockets..

You're probably best off with the transmission you've got - the 4L60E is good for at least 400 ft lbs. of torque. However, you'll want to beef it up significantly. You can have a company like JET engineering do everything, or you can buy corvette servo's and do it yourself. Custom valvebody.. and you'll need to reprogram your pcm.

oh, and get a Yank high stall TC. I'd want a local shop, or maybe Jet to tune everything together, rather than just slapping random kits together.
