Power Tailgate Lock

I am trying to install a power tailgate lock kit on my 99 siverado. It has keyless entry. THe directions don't tell me where to hook up the two wires into my system. It just says left kick panel. It has two makle spade connectors on it. If anyone has a power door lock schematic for a 99 Silverado please reply to this.

I assume you already have power door locks. If this is the case, just remove 1 of your trucks door panels (either drivers side or passengers side, your choice), and splice-in the wiring of your new Tailgate servo with the existing wires from your OEM door lock-servo.

Use a volt meter or ohm meter to verify which is the hot wire (i.e., 12V) and which is the ground. It's not a big deal if you make the wrong connection on the first attempt, just reverse it if you do. Good luck.

I would wire it with the passenger door not the driver's. That way it unlocks when you press the unlock on the keyless entry twice not just once, but that is up to you. There really is no reason to take off the door panel and run wire all the way in there. If you take off the kick panel there is a connector with a latch thingy on it in there. Use a test light and you can easily identify which wire triggers the unlock and lock functions.
