For $40, what do you guys think? I can't swing a Westers or anything right now, but I am looking for firmer shifts. Anything good, bad?

I put one on my 98 1/2 ton 4wd ext. w/4L60. Works..no question. You'll find #2 setting too harsh for anything. You'll have it on #1 or stock. Taps into 2 tranny wires from computer under hood. Stuck it to my dash to the lft of the wheel under instuments. Electronically ups line pressure. It's a great effect for $35. Though I question how good it is for the tranny...especially in colder weather. Watch it when the truck is cold...it jumps pretty good when you put it in gear...keep foot firmly on the BRAKE. :D

I have one on my 95' Tahoe and I wouldn't buy one again. I never use it, and it only firms part throttle shifts. Personally I think a shift kit is a waste unless it firms up full throttle shifts. Having firm part throttle shifts just gives you a jerky ride with no performance gain. The only gain I see to having the electronic shift kit is when your towing, you can switch it to a firmer setting and it will shift the tranny a little faster under a heavy load.

I personally wouldn't buy one again, but it can be fun to play with. You aren't going to see a performance gain from it though.

Just my 2 cents.

I've heard nothing but good things about the TransGo Shift Kit. They'll run ya like 100 bucks. A guy I know has one on his '00 et cab 5.3 with like intake, exhaust and headers...and he was chirping 1st and 2nd all night! It even comes with an installation video
