'03 tahoe shock failed...

my moms '03 tahoe only has 4k on it and the front passenger

shock is leaking bad. sooooo.....we took it to the dealer on thursday andhad to leave it there all day and over night just to have them look at it after we told them what the problem was to begin with and that it needed a new shock. they call us up the next day when they FINALLY get to look at it on friday and says "needs a new shock, gotta order it and we cant get it here till tuesday" WTF!! my parents just gave those mofo's 40k for a vech and this it what you get back?? nice huh? ive always hated that dealer but my parents dont like to go to another GM dealer for service other than where they bought there vech from. go figure! BTW its myrtle beach chevrolet that is all

sounds just like my 2002 1500 with a puddle of shock oil on the garage floor the day I drove it home, the service writer at the dealership thought I was an idiot for even suggesting that the shock was leaking oil. I took the truck back within 3 hours of picking it up and they kept it overnight till the new shock came in the next day, no loaner car, NOTHING. I love dealerships.

a shock leaked on my 2000 yukon early, too. i decided to replace them all and put on bilstein's because i was out of warranty when i fixed it. love the bils -- go with them if it happens again and you're out of warrantly. did all 4 for about $225 and did the work myself.

 

those cheap stock shocks are terrible -- adn i had the premium smooth ride ones -- the "fat" shocks that are supposed to be self-leveling.
