Yes, we use slightly larger stuff than required for working in our garden. Why work harder when we have machines that can do it?

Its funny how our field cultivator is 28' wide, and so is our garden.

For planting the sweet corn we use the big field planter, gotta unfold it, back yard works great.

One pass through and eight rows of tasty supersweet sweet corn are planted, should be ready to eat by early July.

Do you guys keep the corn to yourselves for personal eating, or do they go to market?

We do the exact same thing but our gargen is a little bigger than that. It would take me at least 6 hours to till the whole garden but with a couple of swaths with the field cultivator or disc and the job is done.

Sweet. My Uncle's do the same thing back in Nebraska, each one has a garden of sweet corn every year. Mmm...there is nothing like some juicy sweet corn I can't wait to have some again this summer.

Back until I was 13 or so I put up a sign at the end of our lane and sold corn that way, made about a $1000 a summer doing that. Got to be too much work and no fun, so we quit that. Now its all for our use and giving to friends. In addition to the garden we also plant about another acre and a half in one of our cornfields, so we have a total of two acres a year. Its good eating.
