Trailer Light Issues

Greetings, I am new to the group and have a question. 

I have a 2020 GMC 3500HD and a 2020 DRV 5th Wheel Camper. Today was the first time I towed the camper with the new truck. When I connected my trailer lights I had nothing. I was at a RV dealer and we plugged in a box and tested the trailer lights and everything worked fine. After racking our brain for a little while we tried and adapter made by curt that plugs into the truck and the trailer plugs into it. Once the adapter was put in line with the trailer lights everything works fine. 

 

The camper does have all LED lights.

 

What does not work is all the cool features in the GM trailer app. 

 

Any ideas or suggestions as to what may be going on?

Another thread on this but the trucks need to sense the lights leds don't draw enough


Also u should have the truck off while connecting the power
