Timing of GM card top off

Over the years I have cashed in on many GM card top off deals.  It seems that these offers are random but are they?  Is there any pattern to when they are offered?

 

I am about to buy a new truck and if I do it now it will be the first time I haven't had a top off deal to use.  I would hate to pull the trigger now and get an offer next month.

They give you extra earnings.  I hardly ever use the card and generally have less than $100 in earnings.  Over the years I have cashed in on several of these deals and most times it has been for $1700.  I had an offer of $1000 in January or February but wasn't ready.
