Denali Features...Any Suggestions?

I bought a 2004 Denali about a month and a half ago. I have been looking at pictures on the internet of what people have done to theirs. Here are some Ideas I like:

I want to somehow find a woodgrain steering wheel that lets me keep my radio controls on the wheel. I have the carbon metallic color Denali with the darker grayish color wood (name?). Any suggestions?

I want to put escalade door handles, cargo rack, and painted rear vents on it. Any suggestions where to get these for a decent price?

I am going to put in a few TV's, and may put some rims on it, but I just want to do a few minor changes right now.

Any suggestions on where to get these or what to get? Thanks for the help.

Go through JP Customs website, he has some good stuff, and is a site sponser. Link is on the left side of the page.

As far as customizing your rig, the only person that you should pay attention to their opinion, is yourself. You are spending the money, and you have to drive it.

Personally, I do the audio system first in any rig that I buy. The stock stuff just sucks.....Yes, even the venerable Bose.

But thats just me.

You can't put a woodgrain steering wheel on without taking out the airbag :jester:

Maybe a woodgrain cover. :shakehead:

Couldn't agree more. Maybe you should pick up some magazines at your local Kwick-E mart or something. Also, do some web surfing to see what sparks your interest.

My personal pet peeve is NOT having tinted windows...so that is usually the first thing I do on mine! I like better tunes also, but usually end up getting excited over going faster so I end up doing some type of a performance mod second like adding an exhaust, K&N filter, etc. Then comes the tunes....every machine needs'm! :D

Again, it just varies with everyone and their tastes. :jester:

Sorry, but by driving an 04 Denali of that color, you are already "Cool on your Stool" :shakehead:

I like tinted windows and the list of mods that you listed sound great. You already have a sharp ride that looks "rich", don't clutter it up too much, just some suttle things to make it stand out from the crowd. You just need to look a bit "richer" than the next Denali. A bit faster too! Possibly some small perf. mods as well.

Good Luck and post pics. of what you do. :jester:

I just talked to a guy with an 03' and he got a wood grain from Alliance Technologies. It seems like it wouldn't be too hard to take out the airbag, wouldn't you just unhook the battery, then you could play with it without risk? That is how I did it with my toyota.

Ooh, I figured I would post some pics of my last truck just to see what I have done in the past:

I put it 3" Higher and on 42" TSL's before I sold it. In that pic it was on 38.5's.

Hey, if getting rid of the airbag is something your willing to do, then the possibilities are endless. As for me....... I've kissed a couple of windshields, and learned my lesson.

I love my 03 Denali. The escalade steering wheel, rear appliques (rear vents) and door handles can be purchased by your local Caddy/GM parts dealer. The rear appliques are about 86.00 a piece and improves the exterior. I prefer the color keyed door handles, better than the caddy chrome ones. The caddy woodgrain steering whee comes with the same audio and onstar controls.

Here's a free mod that will "clean" up your rig - Shave the GMC and Yukon emblems on the rear gate.

The Mod i've enjoyed the most: my exhaust.

I've added some nice chrome 22" rims wrapped with 305/40/22 Toyo's, leveled the rear, Cranked the TB's in the front, shaved emblems, added flowmaster 50 series pipes, and a K&N FIPK under the hood.

Question: I'm planning on have a Radix Supercharger installeded soon, but in the meantime I was thinking about installing a Diablo Predator Programmer. I know the Radix comes with it's own programmer specific to the 6.0 engine. Will the Diablo be a waste of $400+ or can I (or will i need to) use it after the SC been installed.

Great Forum: thanks in advance for any advice.

Hey AdamsDenali,

Your rig sounds sweet. You should post a pic of it.

How did you level your rear end? Did you get aftermarket shocks, or are you still using the stock ones?

Charles4x4, first of all congrats on choosing the best-looking color GM currently offers. IF I were you, I'd add exhaust and air intake first. They will add power and fuel economy, and they are relativley cheap mods. Then, throw on some 22" rims. Nothing adds to a vehicle's appearance like a nice set of wheels. Also, remove the badges on the tailgate. It's a free mod, and it looks great.

After that, who knows? You're the boss.

I meant take out the airbad to install the wheel, then put it back in. I will definately keep it in.

Hey,

Did the caddy steering wheel match the interior wood? Also, does it have the caddy symbol or the GMC symbol? I was going to shave the rear embelems and put one "Denali" emblem on the right side.

Hey,

How do you remove the embelems on the rear taligate? Also, what eshaust and intake would you suggest, and how much will it improve the mileage? I love the quiteness of the truck, so I don't want anything much louder than stock. Thanks for the info.

New Question:

Will the 2002 Escalade cluster work with a 2003+ Denali? The 2003+ have the info (avg. econ, odometer, ect...) computer thing below the speedo. Will it come up on the 02' escalade one too?
