Step Bars or Running Boards

So I’m trying to figure out here. I have a 2020 Silverado 2500 HD. I’m wanting to put a set of the GM OEM 6 inch rectangular side steps on. My question is one dealer has told me that the 1500 and the 2500HD steps are interchangeable. Another dealer has told me they are not. I found a set of used ones that a guy didn’t like on his 1500 and I can buy them cheap. Before making the 2 hour drive to get them does anyone know if the 1500 and 2500’s are interchangeable? They are showing different part numbers but look the exact same mounting. Anyone??

The crew cabs should be the same

They would mount up, but the HD boards hang lower (the mounts are about 3 inches longer) due to the added height of the trucks.
