CSK Class Action Lawsuit Filed

Yeah, read it but what does it mean to me. I have a 99, 95,000 miles, not the first owner, definately out of warranty. So that pretty much means I can probably bet the farm that they won't buy mine back. If I remember right the lemon law does not cover used vehicles so that is not a course. If that was the case it definately would be easy to take it to the dealer three times for them not to be able to fix this problem.

The only thing this can do is if GM admits that there is something wrong and launches a recall on their own. I don't think they will ever be forced to recall especially since it is not a safety issue.

Then you have the issue of a billion dollar law suit. If it is like any of those other class action law suits then this will be a joke. I once owned a Toyota 4 Runner. couldn't keep the d**n thing on the road. Filed a lemon law case in Florida and won and got some of (well most of) my money back. A few years later there was a class action law suit against Toyota that I was able to get in on. Same deal like a billion dollars, you know what I go out of it, a stupid voucher for like $250 dollars off another car purchase from Toyota which had like an experation date of like one year. Oh Boy! I already had a vehicle and I definately was not going to buy another Toyota at that time. Absolute joke. Figuring after the lawyers got theirs and they passed out all those vouchers that was your share of a billion. Needles to say all the people that did not even use the voucher, Toyota got off even better.

I especially like how the GM rep pointed out that this is an isolated issue and this only happens when it is cold out. Gee lets see, the last time I looked up the meaning cold it didn't include 100 degrees, like here in AZ when the low for the day is 100, and the truck still knocked at first start up. Definately not trying to over hype the situation is she. What a joke. :uhoh:

The only people that will make out will be the lawyers involved. A few years ago, they had a class action suit against GM for the side saddle fuel tanks for the '73-'87 trucks. GM lost this suit and paid out. I had an '87 C10 Silverado at the time. The only thing that happened from the suit was that I received a letter from the law firm that asked about opting out. I didn't do anything and I got a second letter a couple months later with the settlement. All this settlement ended up being was a $500 coupon towards the purchase of a new GM truck. So, don't get your hopes up that you'll get a new truck out of this.

It'll just be monies for lawyers. Class action Suits are worthless to individuals in terms of payment. Like the 73-87 suit against the side saddle fuel tank design. The only reason there was an expiration date on the certificate was not to limit GM's liability to the customers, but the value of the unclaimed certificates were defined as remainder payment for law services.

I used my coupn on the truck i have now. I am pretty sure it was for $1000. Transferrable for $500. Funny how I may end up getting another one for my next truck. hehe
