gave20 Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Did anyone watch the TCU Southern Miss Game last night? Wow was it a good game, TCU lost but it was 31 to 6 with 9:00 minutes left in the 4th and TCU scored 19 unanswered points cause they never let USM get the ball! TCU would have won but on of the last drive the QB fumbled and that was the game the final score was 28-31 I think. I was pullin' for TCU, the way they played last night showed they would have had a good BCS showing.
Shotgun Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 The final score was 40 - 28. TCU is a good Conf. USA team but they should have never been ranked so high in the polls. They were beaten by SO. Miss which is another good Conf. USA team. They were ranked 9th and they are a good team.Just imagine how well they would do against a lower ranked div.1A school such as Miami,Florida or even Tennessee. It wouldn't be a pretty sight. They would be taken to the wood shed.
gave20 Posted November 21, 2003 Author Posted November 21, 2003 Everybody says TCU lacked a strength of schedule but in my opinion they have a good bowl worthy team. I think with the tempo they played with last night they would have given Miami or Iowa or any mid ranked team a run for their money. I'm not saying they would have won but it definitely would have been a good game to watch. Miami, OSU and definitely Oklahoma are ranked to high. Miami, has along with OSU, squeeked by to win many games with unranked teams, yet continue to stay highly ranked ( Miami vs. WVU, OSU vs. Purdue, OSU vs. PSU, last year OSU barely beat unranked Cinncinati yet was untouched in the polls the same with Miami). Then there Oklahoma who beat Baylor 77-0 but the week before Baylor beats another team 34-0 so how does OK have a good strength of schedule? I just feel these Cinderalla schools should have a chance to play in a low BCS bowl when they have a good season and not be excluded because they're not in "THE" conference, but it seems all to often the AP has the bowl teams picked before the season even starts. If there's not favortism in the polls TCU should stay ranked ( but they won't), they'll be dropped like bricks while OSU wins by 1 point over pitiful PSU 21-20 and remains untouched in the ranking
