Locker for Base 03 Avalanche

I have a Base 03 Avalanche and would like to get the G80 locker installed. Does anyone know if it will void the warranty? I was planning on buying at a Chevy dealer and letting them install it. When I talked to the parts guy he said that I could do that but that the warranty would be voided. I am not willing to void the warranty so should I just forget about the locker?

Well, the Avalanche is based on the Suburban. Check out a Suburban or Yukon XL and you'll see the similarities in the frame, coil spring rear suspension, etc. So, the axle should be the same.

 

How does installing the GM-spec G80 option suddenly void your warranty? Or is the stealer covering their A**? That doesn't say much for their service department, does it??

They offer the NoSlip, a mechanical locker that is easy to install and very easy to live with. I would double-check with PowerTrax to make sure the part #'s haven't changed.

Yeah, sounds like the dealer is just trying to cover their rear. If you have another dealer in town, I'd take a visit and discuss it with them. I don't see how installing a stock GM part would void your warranty at all, especially if the labor was performed by GM.
