I purchased a new 2020 Silverado 1500 LT 3.0 Diesel Shadow Gray and Off Road Diesel package 4x4 and looking to make it stand out more.  With so many trucks on the road it blends in and does not stand out.  I have it in the shop currently getting the following added:

1:  Windows Tinted.

2:  Paint Protection and Coating.

3:  Dash Cam hardwired (Front and back).

4:  Fog lights installed (this will be done on Tuesday and dealership).

5:  Truck Bed Mat

It has chrome and I was going to get it all blacked but wanted to look at wheels first.  That way I can keep the chrome ones or sell them.  I also drive a lot, which is why I got the diesel, and MPG is important to me though I am ok with loosing a few MPG but not much more than that.

I will have $3000 left for my budget to upgrade the trucks looks but as this will be my first truck I have done this for I am at a lost of what I should aim for that will not destroy the MPG of the truck.   Will lifting it the normal ~3 inches greatly effect MPG or towing.  I know bigger tires effect MPG and I am fine with the tires on the truck now but was going to get some wheels that make the truck stand out.  If I can get wheels/tires that actually look great and improve MPG that I would be willing to increase my budget on them.  Mainly drive highway but will be going off road and down country dirt/gravel road some.

What is your go to upgrades?  I have watched youtube videos and read articles but most seem to be trying to sell something so I wanted actual testimonies from the people here.

I installed fog lights myself using the Gen5 harness I believe its called but the harness cost the same as what it would've cost to install with the switch and have it flashed.  The Gen5 harness the fog lights come on anytime the headlights are on.

I have a 2" level kit on the front and I installed a 1" block on the back.  Did the back myself.  Fairly inexpensive mods.

Also had front bumper wrapped with white vinyl which was inexpensive in my book.

    • I understand that. The price is what it is, though. The price is what oil costs today, where our choices have led us, where supply is, and where demand is, in the market that is. Speculation is for futures, what we think the price will be, but with incomplete information at the time the price is forecast. I know you know this, but you appear to be intent on making a secondary point here about what you think the market could or should be, if only other choices.   In 1975 it became illegal to export US Crude. I'm conflicted on what the best answer is. Free markets allow export in pursuit of profit. But there is also a lot to gain by producing and consuming our own oil here. How do you reconcile it?
    • That sir is a choice. And even if it were not for all the reasons stated, this disruption has zero to do with the reality of the actual logistics and everything to do with the greed of SPECULATION. Spot price is irrelevant to reality.
    • What I think you're saying is there is supply here at home, and in Venezuela, and we could ease pricing if only it were favorable to do so.   Well, yes?   But that's not the current market. Supply isn't what could someday exist, if only, it's what producers are willing to produce and sell at a certain price point.   The national price of single family homes would come way down if we'd just slap together a few million homes this summer.   RAM and GPUs would get a lot cheaper if we just set up some factories to produce a bunch more and stopped using it to build out AI data centers.
    • The turn signal/multifunction switch is faulty.  I've seen a few of these go bad at work.
