Hi,

I have a 2020 crew cab AT4:  it has the premium package that has the park assist and blind zone alerts, in-dash navigation with the ProGrade trailering package;  however, it doesn’t have the technology package, therefore it doesn’t have the surround view as it lacks the front grill camera nor the cameras under the side view mirrors.  While that would have been nice to have had, availability this past year has been, limited, and I got what was available (love the truck, even if it didn’t have the technology package).   But even more than the surround view, what I wish I had was the backup camera port for a trailer (such as https://www.shopchevyparts.com/electronics/2020-silverado-2500-transparent-trailer-camera-auxiliary-trailer-camera-models-with-cwm-pdm-uvn/84946379-p-92305265.html).   Mine has the 7-pin/4-pin plug, and I’m aware that it’s possible to order the other receptacle that has the two camera ports in place of the 4-pin, and that there is probably the actual port in the wiring harness up behind the rear bumper that could be fished out and put into place in such a receptacle. While it wouldn’t be able to do the ‘invisible trailer’ view as I don’t have the cameras under the side view mirrors, my question is, would it actually work, if I had the camera and port, to have a backup view on the dash’s screen?  What else might be needed to get a trailer camera view onto the dash?   There are a lot of aftermarket wireless cameras that I could get and use a separate screen similar to a Garmin, but I’d prefer to be able to use the dash’s screen, and not have to have an extra monitor separate from the dash.  (Even better would be an ability to have a wireless camera, and plug a dongle into the bumper camera port and feed the wireless signal into the dash unit, but I’m not expecting that to become available anytime soon.)

Any help, suggestions, commentary, pointers, are all appreciated....
