hVac control changed lost compas

Just change out my HVac control head noticed I have lost my compass and temperature reading. To change the head I disconnected the battery removed and replaced the dual control head. Is there any way to get the functionality back? Took it to my dealer they hooked it up to the computer and it is like it never had the funcationality.
