I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 So my dad change my starter and the vehicle starts up fine, but my steering wheel is locked and I’m getting messages for my trailer brake system, power steering, traction control, and stabilitrak. We’ve checked the wiring and we’ve checked all the fuses and relays and they are fine, when we ran the scan tool it gave us a u0121-00 code and said that it has lost communication with electronic brake control module. Could the module be the issue or does anyone know of any simpler things that could be causing this ?

I am by far a master mechanic but I have seen many threads that describe similar electrical troubles and it usually comes down to a bad ground. One of the biggest offenders is a ground that is on top left of dashboard. The ground doesn't make full contact because of a pad that gets between the metal on dash and the wire connector. You may want to check for that. IIRC, I think it could be visible if you remove the speaker grill.
