Hood won't Open

I have a 2015 Sierra and can't get the hood open.  Any help would be great.  When the latch is pulled it barely moves.  It's like the cable may be pinched or to tight.  Is there a way to open it from the front.  Can't see around the grill area where to access the latch.

I would start with pushing down on the hood a few times, in the latch area. Then pull on the release handle with medium pressure, while someone "bangs" on the hood near where the hood latch is. The vibration and movement might free it up.

Did you ever find a way to get it open? I'm having the same issue.
