Rear View Mirror Install

Looking for some feedback because I can't find anything online, I upgraded my head unit and lost the compass/outside temperature readings. The only thing I see is to get an old mirror with the compass/temp window and wire it in. I already have the sensor on my truck but not sure where to run wires from new mirror/tap into existing wires from sensor or power source would be located...thanks

I have a 2017 WT and it came with prismatic mirror. I wanted an auto-dimming mirror so I ordered one similar to the one in the link below (same manufacturer). Mine only has the compass reading, not the temperature. The mirror has the compass sensor inside the mirror, so only a power wire was required. I can see outside temperature two ways in my Silverado; when my phone is connected via the USB cable the temperature is displayed at the top of the radio display. The other way is when I change mode or fan speed on my climate controls, my Alpine momentarily displays the climate page that included the outside temperature.

When I ordered the mirror, I didn't notice what color the characters were and received one that displayed in red. So, I put that mirror in my son's Sierra and ordered another one, this time with blue/green characters.
