So I never really found a good video that was specific for our trucks on how to change the fluid and filter on the 8L45. So after doing a bunch of research and talking to a few other people who have done it themselves, I finally got around to getting mine done, and documented it. Honestly, it was a lot easier than I anticipated. Transmission fluid is going to get everywhere, just accept that. My local and trusted transmission shop owner, that I use to service a work truck, said it would be a good idea to change the fluid in the 8 Speed every 25,000 miles. I thought it sounds excessive, but given the amount of problems with this transmission related to fluid, I think it is cheap insurance to keep it running for a long time without issues.
