xKraKeNx Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 (edited) I’m trying to charge my ac system after replacing the condenser and I can’t find any where on the truck that says what type of PAG oil to use or how much. Does any know how much PAG oil to add and what type? The owners manual is even less vague. 2015 Silverado with the 5.3. Edited May 25, 2022 by xKraKeNx
CamGTP Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Those years will be PAG-46. Did you already suck all the refrigerant out or did it leak out and you are replaced the condenser only? The way it should be done is you measure the amount of oil taken out of the system with the machine and then put that same amount back in. So if you take it somewhere to recharge the system they will do that with the service already. If you are doing it yourself with a vacuum pump I would add at least 2-3oz back into the system because of that repair. The full system holds roughly 6oz of pag oil.
Sam Corne Posted April 3, 2025 Posted April 3, 2025 CamGTP is spot on. Most AC recharge kits have the Pag oil. I have had good success with A/C pro products and will continue using them.
