Light Lens Covers

Hey all,

Anyone know what it would take the change the lens cover on a 94' Silverado. My ol' truck looks great, but the headlights are pretty beat up lookin' from 10 years of rocks hittin' em. Any way to change the cover and not the assembly? I got into an accident a while back and damaged a Park Lamp. I was told by the dealer that with parklamps the entire assembley had to be replaced :seeya: . Is this true? If so, is this also true with headlights? How much would an OEM replacement grille cost you think??

Thanks again...

You can get OEM park lamps on e-bay for dirt. Less than $20 and you can have a like new set. Yes the whole park lamp assembly comes as a unit. It only takes 4 screws to get them out. As far as the headlamps you can just replace the part that comes out to change the bulbs. You can get a new set of headlamps for under $100. I have seen issues of some aftermarket lamps not fitting into the bracket the same as the OEM ones, but if they don't they come with the right bracket. After you take the grill of it is only 4 bolts on each assembly. OEM grills are upwards of $300. There are some quality aftermarket ones that are much cheaper though.

well..i have some the headlights and parkin lamps sittin in my basement... u could buy them guess... only problems are that on one of the headlight bolt, i stripped the bolt, so it doesn't come out any more. its the passenger side. they are aimed perfectly so don't worry about that. Basically, if u want to change the bulb, u would have to unbolt the whole thing..not a biggie, but an inconvenience. really only takes me like 5 min.. also, one the corner where the screws go in on one of my parkin lamps is cracked..but they still work great! both are not rock beaten either.. let me know.

I've only changed one headlight, and it was just a bulb that came out..I don't remember pulling any parts out. Guess I have to replace the headlamp as a whole unit than too... I also see that I have a parklamp bulb burntout. Anyone know how to change these?? Pass side left bulb. Apparently there are two bulbs per park lamp. Thanks again fellas..
