I have a 2000 silverado. Cab temp locks up. The control can be set anywhere but the temp is full hot. I believe the body control module control HVAC functions and thus might be dieing. Any same experiences??? If the ignition is turned off the control resets and you can then adjust again. Seems to happen most when the control dial is on full hot then tried to turn down.

Do you have a DirectHits ignition system? There was an issue awhile back with the wires they where providing. If so call them they will replace the wires with better shielded ones.

Truck is all stock. Ignition etc. Just bought it a couple months ago. Haven't had a chance to start tweeking yet. Previous truck was a '92 and out of all the money I put in to get more pformance exhaust and intake seemed to be the biggest gains for the money. I'm trying to build my own intake using a K&N cone filter and 4" tubing from the intake piping off a Peterbilt. Then I was going to cut out the factory muffler and replace with a Flowmaster 40 or 50 sinlge in and out, reuse the stock tail pipe.

Just for an FYI to anyone on this. Temp door actuator motor died. Replaced the motor and so far all is well.

My buddies 2000 was doing the same thing. They first replaced the HVAC control assembly and that did nothing. Then they found the dying actuator motor.
