Gotta call BS, sorry man. I am sure the lightning can be mad faster but the 500hp SRT10 still has 150 more ponies under the hood. Not saying at all the ford wouldn't win due to weight or another factor but NO WAY does it win by that much unless highly modified... NO WAY!

Beside I was at the nations number 1 dodge dealer at christmas time. They still haven't had one hit the lot yet!

Call it what you will. I didnt say which was faster. I didnt say which was slower. I didnt see the run. I didnt make the video. All I did was post a link to it.

Everyone needs to keep in mind here that Dodge has the 1/4 mile time for the SR/T 10 listed at 13.80 and an L will best that in stock form.

I have driven the supposed 345 HP Hemi and while I will refrain from calling BS,the 300 HP 3v 5.4 Triton in the 'o4 F150 felt much stronger so Dodge may just be cratively listing HP.

SRT10 isn't a 345 horse hemi...it's a 500 hp 525 pnd ft V10 viper motor....

I would ASSUME the #1 Dodge (including #1 Viper sales) dealer in the country if ANY dealer would have one...WOULD!

I would bet my fair share that, the truck shown is a normal, 345 Hemi regualr cab.... Not the SRT.

The SRT is .7 off of the lightning but 8 car lenghts is not 7 tenths....

I understand that the SR/T 10 is a V 10,hence the name but I used the Hemi as comparisson because I don't believe its' power claims so it wouldn't surprise me if the SR/T was off too.

Also,no one ever said the L was stock and it doesn't take much for them to get into the mid-low 12's.

How many miles were on that Hemi? I'm hearing that Dodge has programmed the PCM to reduce the power of the motor down for the first 500 or 5,000 miles, I don't recall which, as a protection/break-in for the new engine. After that initial time the real power is unleashed. Will know by end of summer, my dad's 2500 with Hemi is hopefully on a boat to not get damaged in transit this time, should have it by mid-Feb. if he lucks out.

It was a new one on the lot but I seriously doubt that the computer can just "reprogram" its self to allow for more power after 5000 miles.

There was another post in the forums a while back where someone said something about changing the torque converter gives it the power it's supposed to have but the last thing I want to do on a brand new $30,000 + truck is have to put a new torque converter in it.

Well, there 3 around at dealers. Its not the "Number 1" dealer in the country. But they have some. If you want I can go take some great digital photos for you if you like!!!! The truck is still ugly.

As for the vid, proof is in the pudding. When I see otherwise Ill believe otherwise. Furthermore, I dont care which IS faster.

IMO Dodge is overstating HP numbers and hyping the "Hemi" to up sales. When will people learn there is no 426 in that Ram?
