99 Sierra Electrical Meltdown

Passenger window stopped operating. The driver power seat sometimes is in a lower height position than I left it. This morning the radio/clock display did not come on when I started the motor. I did discover that the radio works although the display was blank.

Is there a systematic electrical meltdown going on here?

Update: Went out to show a buddy the problems and the clock worked. This must indicate a sporadic problem?!

Flaky or intermittant problems are the most difficult to troubleshoot. Start at the source, the battery. Check all connections make sure they are clean and tight. Check your alternator connections and power distribution points under the hood. Don't forget we have 1 fuse boxes, 1 under the hood and 1 on the driver's side of the dashboard, check everything there. Most powered items in the vehicle use a hot lead (+12v) and a connection to the chassis (ground) , unless the assembly being powered is in an insulating plastic case as in lighting. Check your headlight switch, I had trouble with dash/dome light and it was the dimmer portion of my switch. Good Luck!

I'm having problems right now with my voltage regulator cooking my battery. Does the voltage gauge read 14V when driving around? Check all your connections especially from the alternator and the battery.

Last night I discovered two things. First, the panel lights were my fault, I had cleaned the dash Sunday and moved the thumbwheel brightness adjustment knob accidentally. That means there's no problem with the dash clock/radio lighting. Also tried the window on the passenger side on the way to a store and it worked! First time in a couple of months, but it worked. The dealer said this am that he thought there is still a short in the window motor regulator. Any thoughts or diagnostics I should entertain?
