Clunking

I have a clunking sound that can be heard when coming to a complete stop then again as soon as my foot is taken off the brake pedal. The dealer is sick of looking at it. It will come in and they will clean and adjust the rear drums, lube the rear slip yoke, they have even changed the u-joints twice. Any one have this anomaly. If so what’s the cure.

I had the same problem for over a year....the dealer replaced u-joints and lubed the yolk multiple times with no cure. I finally changed the transfer case fluid to the AutoTracII and the problem was gone:)

A search for "driveline clunk" will give you more reading than a high school kid on summer vacation. Several different treatment options that have worked or not for the trucks. Mine's quiet now after the slip yoke lube, nickel yoke swap, and blue atf change.
