PCM same for all 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 engines?

I have a 4.8l engine, can I drop a 5.3 liter engine without having to program the PCM, what about installing a 6.0.

 

I would assume that all programming is the same for all three engines, but if not how do I program for a bigger engine.

Sorry, the programming is different for every engine. The easiest solution is to get the PCM that goes with the engine, but that will work only if it's the same year and has the same tire size and same transmission. You will probably have to go to one of the custom tuners like Wester's and have a program custom written for you.

No the different displacement will each require a seperate set of programs. You may be able to have your existing ECM re-programmed for the new engine.

You can have a different vin number flashed into your pcm by the dealer, and a HPP3 will fix the tire ratio.
