Hello, just joined the group! Signed purchase agreement yesterday for a 2021 3500 Denali. It has a cracked front camera - still creates an image but it's distorted. Looks like it took a rock hit or something and the lens is cracked.  Has anyone replaced this camera? I see some replacement parts for ~$130 on Amazon, and some kits on parts websites for as much as $500. Not sure if this is just plug & play for a Denali, or if you have to reset the truck's brain to use a new camera.  I searched the forum, didn't find anything but my searching abilities are challenged I think.

TIA!

I have a 2021 3500 SLT. This camera costs about $100 from an on line gm parts dealer.  It connects with a FAKRA connector. No need for reprogramming after replacement. It’s the same as when you remove and replace the tailgate, which contains a camera. The system just recognizes the camera is there and works.

It should be relatively easy to replace. I suspect it just clips into a holder behind the grill but I’ve not taken out my front camera.  I bought a camera of the same part number as the tailgate camera to put on the back of my slide in truck camper.  The part number for your front camera should be 84676845, same as for the tailgate and side mirror cameras.

I had a similar issue with my front camera last year. I opted for a replacement from Amazon too, but here's a heads up - be sure to read reviews and check for compatibility with your specific Denali model.

In terms of installation, it was surprisingly straightforward for me. Just a few screws and it popped right in. No need to mess with resetting the truck's brain; it recognized the new camera without a hitch.

If you're unsure about anything during the process, some great YouTube tutorials can guide you step by step.
