I think I'm missing a skidplate or two..

I have a 2003 Silverado Z71 4WD excab and I think I'm missing a skid plate or two. I know the Z71 package is shocks and skidplates, and I only see one under my fuel tank.

I began getting suspicious when I would read posts of how the oil would drain on the skidplate when doing an oil change. Well, when I did mine the first time about 3 months ago, there was no problem with oil draining on a skidplate. It was a clear shot to the drain pan.

Can anybody take a pic of their skidplate around the engine area if you have the Z71 package? I'll double check my truck tomorrow but I am pretty sure I only have one under the fuel tank. Does anyone know how much total plates I should have? When I test drove my truck before buying it I noticed the tow hitch was missing, and I checked the option sheet and it did have the trailering package. I looked under the bumper and you could clearly see the spots where the hitch bolted up to, because it was bare metal and it did not have any of the wax coating like on the frame. I mentioned it to my salesman and he got me a new one.

I know it's probably too late since I have had the truck for almost a year but it would give me some peace of mind knowing that the dealer may have gotten the best of me this time :sigh:

Forgot to mention that I have the 5.3 if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance,

Rich

You sure it is actually a Z71? I guess if you checked the codes for the trailer pack you probably checked that too. It should definatley have some skids, I was working on a 99 2wd today that had composite skids on the front and under the engine.
