Putco Stainless Steel Locker Side Rails

has anyone purchased the above rails? It says they have tie-down strength of 1,000 lbs per corner but I'm curious...... I would like to purchase them but if the strength is no more than a couple of hundred pounds then I thought to go with the cheaper ones.

I have them and probably would not trust 1000 lbs. on them. They go into the stake holes in the bed with a rubber piece that expands when you tighten them up. Mine have never come loose and they were tough to remove and put on my new truck. The middle of them is a hollow pipe, so you should tie off to the ends of them. I have had no problems with them, but they are mostly for looks.

well if they run down the stake hole then I'm more trusting and probably feel it is worth the expense.

I have been very happy with my Putco side rails. They are very strong and have supported well over 1,000 lbs. in the time that I have used them.
