04 POWER DOOR LOCKS

Yep, you can. I had the dealer do mine (sent it to an aftermarket to do it for him, DOH! ) but after I see how it was done, it is simple enough to do yourself. You can usually find an aftermarket shop to do an alarm (with remote keyless) and the actuators for under $300. A1Electric also has some remote keyless systems with actuators, so check with them.

I just did this in my 2001 Silverado. I got the kit of ebay for about $30.00 US (got it here www.stores.ebay.com/id=3213821&ssPageName=L2) and did the install myself.

I must admit it was a little tougher than the 1994 Dodge I did this to before since the door lock rod runs sideways instead of up and down. I could take some pics of where I mounted the actuators in the door if you would like to see them. This part was the toughest part, finding the right spot to mount the actuators.

The wiring was pretty straight forward, but time consuming. Probably took me three hours total. I wired it into my remote starter, and also wired up a switch, so the locks can be activated both ways. I mounted the switch in the dash by making a cover plate for the empty cubby hole in the dash I had since I don't have the pushbutton 4X4 in my truck.

Let me know if you need any info.
