Tulsa to get 25(or 23?) story high Native American

A man is wanting to build a Statue in Tulsa, of a Native American stading upright, holding his hadn to the sky. Flying from his hand will be a Bald Eagle with it's wings spread. The statue will be complete with an observation tower. It'll be like 13 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty. Tulsa already has a nice skyline, if they could fit this thing downtown, that would be pretty cool.

I'm glad we are supposed to be getting something like this, the town/area needs something to jump start it again. A plan was recently passed(I think it should've been halted for a few more years, sales taxes are sky-high here now), so a new convention center is on the way. Also, we may be getting a professional soccer team(who the heck cares????, no one supports Tulsa's minor league soccer team anyway). Also, Bass Pro shop could be building a shop in my town, Broken Arrow.(or Tulsa, B.A. is a suburb)

From what I've heard from people I know: the guy has the moeny, and will pay for it himself. he just needs somewhere to build it. I've heard OKC now wants in on the action. not sure what that means though........

I like Tulsa.

Living in Springfield (MO) - the home of Bass Pro BTW - my wife and I would make frequent trips down to tulsa to go ice skating (tulsa ice, i think?).

Isn't there a big native american musuem up on the north side? I seem to remember going there once. Anyway, that might be the logical place to put the proposed statue.

As long as they don't put in near the perpetual traffic snarl of SW Tulsa. God that traffic was(is?) horrendous. :D

Tulsa Ice Arena? on 71st, down from Woodland Hills Mall? I have a friend that works there. you ought to see the methodist church they built by it. ITS HUUUUGGGEEE! the building probably takes up a few acres itself, never mind the parking lot
