vent tube

was poking around under the truck just now trying to find a rattle i have been hearing. i noticed that the transfer case right before it connects into the driveshaft is covered in oil - even has some ready to drip down!

 

it appears that the oil is coming from a vent tube that is terminates right abouve the transfer case. i traced it back as far as i could, but i couldnt tell where it came from. anybody have any ideas? does the transmission have suck a vent??

upon further review, the oil is not coming from the vent tube itself, just appeared that way because there was oil at the tip of it. I think that there is a bad seal of some sort where the driveshaft connects to the transfer cas that is allowing oil to get spewed around....
