Ordered Yukon Got Here in Only 2.5 Weeks

Unbelievable.

Ordered in Texas and built in Arlington, Texas so it didn't have to travel far.

I ordered it April 6th and it got here on April 23rd. Good thing it did cuz GM dropped the GMS discount for families of employees on May 1st so I got it in just in time. But I couldn't use my GM Card earnings with the discount. :smash:

The best I've ever seen was my dad's ordered truck, it only took 4 weeks.

I think ordering my 2004 Yukon at the end of the model year had a lot to do with it though.

This time of year is the cut off for ordering the current year model. Last year, I ordered my pickup the last day they were taking orders for 03. I had the truck in 3.5 weeks.

We didn't order the wifes Tahoe, but I was still shocked to see the destination charge of $815! It too was built in Arlington and we purchased it in Grapevine at Classic Chevy. I need to get a job delivering these things. It works out to something like $185 a mile for delivery!

Enjoy your Yukon! They are great trucks...

Yeah, but think about the guy in Alaska or Hawaii who buys the truck. He gets charged the same thing that you do. They spread the cost out over everyone. I have at least 10 vehicle assembly plants within a half hour of my house... I'd like it better if they charged actual delivery cost, but it isn't going to happen.

Are you sure they killed GMS pricing for families...they still have family members listed as beneficiaries on gmfamilyfirst.com

Destination includes more than just the shipping cost. Also in there is the prep, such as a wash, a dealer inspection, installation of dealer-installed options. Some trucks get ordered with running boards but those get installed at the dealer in some cases.
