My 93 octane "hot tune" shipped out yesterday from Tilley,Alberta for my 03' Silverado 4.8! WOO HOO! But ive got a few ?'s First off how many of you had to do any kind of security procedure? Second did your truck crank up instantly? Also what UPS service does Lyndon use is it 3 day select or worldwide expidited????? Oh yeah last but not least for how long did you feel changes happening

Mine started right up, didn't idle funny or anything like I thought it would.

At 1/2 throttle or more for the first 50 - 60 miles, I would get pinging at higher Rpm's. The transmission took the longest to learn everything, probably 150 miles. You'll definitely know when it has, it shifts nice and firm. In yours with the hotter tune, you'll probably notice an even bigger difference.

It took about 5 days to get mine when they mailed it, evidently customs is a terd to get stuff like through...

I noticed a difference as soon as I took off the first time. It pinged for about the first 10 miles pretty good when I was giving about half throttle. After that, just every once and a while around the 2K rpm range, that lasted about another 50 miles. Now, after 250 miles, it'll ping very, very slightly. I have to clean the MAF sensor this weekend and will be putting in a 180 degree t-stat. This should pretty much eliminate any pinging, which really isn't very much now. I love the increase, and I only got an 89 octane tune. The removal of the torque management is probably the biggest area of improvement. When I hit the gas, it takes off, no hesitating like before. Best $$ ever spent on a performance mod! So far, my mpg appears to be way up, probably going to get around 16mpg compared to 13 before getting my Wester's! Enjoy! Chris

I had to do the password relearn procedure on mine. Truck would start and then immediately die.

Mine took about 300 miles to realize the full gain. Shifts do get firmer over time also. Mine's almost too firm now!

My average fuel economy went up 1.5 to 2 MPG. I seemed to have gained the most in the midrange, medium throttle portion. Feels much stronger in passing when full throttle is not required.

BTW, I got the 87-91 tune.

Do all the 03's have to do the security procedure and if so how do you know how is it with the Instructions or do you call Lyndon? What does it involve something with the key????

Nope! It seems about 1 out of about 50 has to the security relearn Michael. I have posted instructions on how to do it here for anyone to use.
