Question on Radix Antifreeze

Well, I'm on the home stretch on the Radix installation. All that remains is the electrical work (connecting fuel pump and intercooler pump power, and reconecting the electric fans), filling everything up with coolant, reflash the powertrain ECU, and see if she starts. Speaking of coolant, should I use green or orange antifreeze for the intercooler system. Magnacharger does not specify, and the truck uses the orange stuff, but I'd rather use the green stuff if I can because 1) I can buy it premixed and 2) I've heard horror stories about the orange stuff. What do y'all use?

I have Dexcool (orange) in mine also.

you can buy dex-cool in a 50/50 mix too. i have a jug of it right now. i'd go with the orange. that's what i went with in my engine rebuild. the green/orange controversy is like asking which kind of oil is best. you may ask 20 different people and get 35 different responses. i think it's just when something major goes wrong people look for something to blame. if they like green and the car has orange.......bingo, there's something to blame it on, and vice versa.

I guess I should have responded to this earlier. I decided to go with the green for two reasons. I can get it in 50/50 mix (here in the sticks the orange is not available in 50/50 yet) and for such a small amount I didn't want to be bothered with the hassle and mess of mixing. Also, since the engine uses orange, if I spot a leak on the ground I can tell which system it came from by the color.

Why would you want to pay basically full price for half the anitfreeze content? What a rip off. Keep a old jug and pour half of new in it and top of each with water if you want 50/50 but I run between 60/40 and 70/30 for the extra corrosion protection. It does really help.

i have the same theory as you, but it was in my dad's shop. so i just kinda took possesion of it
