Stereo Unit Lights

I've got a 99' Silverado, with the CD player factory stereo setup. Some of the lights on that panel, the #'s 3 and 6, and the Seek buttons have burnt out. Is it possible to change those? Could it be a fuse? Or am I just gonna have to deal with a couple of them being out? It's no big deal because I know where each button is by touch, but it's kind of annoying.....Thanks!

Here are a couple of threads dealing with that issue.

One

Two

Reading through them tells me that if you can't solder, you are going to have to send it off, or buy a new one.

or (adding to wingnuts list) option 3 - live with it!

thats the option i have chosen so far. seems like too much hassle to change out, and seeing that all the numbers are worn off anyways, i cant see the numbers in the daylight either!

I also have lost lights on my ac controls - indoor and outdoor air buttons, and the rear defog button...

On my old truck, I had lights 2 and 5 burn out on the radio in addition to two lights on the hvac controls go out. Both head end units were replaced under my extended warranty (GMPP).

c5vette - how did you get them to replace that stuff under the gmpp?? I didnt even try because lightbulbs are listed under the items not covered? but, if i can get them replaced for free i would definetly do that!

Yeah, mine also have the 3 and 6 and the seek and scan. Funny how those ones seem to go first.

Also the ac button is out but the indication is still ok to let you know it is either on or off, just can't see the button at night.
