Plastic plugs for wheel well

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I'm out putting the new molded Mud flaps on my new Z71 and the wife is out in the driveway talking (yeah right... :chevy: ) and I wasn't paying attention (understatement) because of the distraction.

I managed to pop off the plastic plugs that are in the wheel well on the wrong side of the wheel well. :flag: I need to get a couple replacements, I will probably just jump down to the dealership and ask for a couple, but what a complete bone headed move. :seeya:

Those of you with wives understand, those of you without, be forewarned! :chevy:

I was down the dealers for some of them the other day. Not very expensive. I think they were like .85 for one type and .58 for another. Depends on which ones you need.

The local auto store also sells them per make of vehicle but I'm not sure if the price is all that cheaper and if your anal, then they may not look exactly correct.

Anyway, pretty funny. It would have been even funnier if you actually put them on backwards then realized it. :flag:

Well it almost happened that way, I put the mud flap up to check the alignment and looked at it for a second before it fully registered what I had just done! :flag:

hehehe, sad...sad...sad... :seeya:

Hi Xao, I put on a set of Husky molded mud guards on my 04 Sub. Fortunately the wife was not there to distract me while I was pulling the plastic plugs or worse while I was drilling holes in my brand new truck!

The two piece plugs are reusable assuming they didn't get mangled on the way out. The one piece plugs are best removed by cutting the heads - replacements would be at Auto-zone, Pepboys and the like. My Sea-Doo had the same type of plugs and I got new ones from one of theses stores.

At least your rockers will be clean if you hit a puddle in reverse! :seeya:
